Taylor started her YouTube career with a simple ASMR video on her phone. Soon after reaching 50,000 subscribers, approximately 1 1/2 months after posting her first video she appeared in a video about gaming produced by PewDiePie. Taylor stopped creating videos at around 2 months when she had close to 100 000 users. Taylor put all of her videos in private due to technical difficulties with the new hardware. After taking a long month off, Taylor started producing new videos. She made the popular ASMR ten triggers designed to aid in sleeping (35 millions views in the end of August in 2022). ASMR 20 Triggers to Help You Sleep, a series of videos aimed at Sleeping was released in July of 2017 and is now watched by 38 million people. After reaching 1 million YouTube users, she was included in the Shane Dawson interview in August 2017. Wired UK estimates that her YouTube advertising earnings were $1000 each week from February to March 2019.

Dennis Helfer, a Canadian farmer, as well as Elaine Helfer, a Canadian woman are her parents. The family's ancestry includes German, English. Swedish and Norwegian. She was a student at William E. Hay Composite High School in Stettler, Alberta. She had three sisters. Tammy, Tara, and Trena also worked with her on the grain farm. Helfer was found at the age of 17 by a scout from a modeling agency while standing in line at the movie theater.
